Event Description: Looking to treat mom or grandma to an enjoyable night out for Mother’s Day? This month’s Lunenburg’s Vermont's Open Mic could be that outing! It will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 6 p.m. in the Lunenburg Methodist Church building. This historic building is located at the top of the Lunenburg Common on Bobbin Mill Road. It is accessible and heated. Bring your instruments, voices, and dancing feet or plan to sit and enjoy the evening in the beautiful setting. $3 admission; kids free with an adult. Please bring a finger food to share; beverages will be provided. A door prize drawing will take place during the evening. The Top of the Common Committee will sponsor an Open Mic each 2nd Saturday into the fall months, so mark your calendars and spread the word! Visit www.topofthecommon.org

Event Description: Northeast Kingdom Youth Services is hosting a Pie Breakfast fundraiser for our Summer Central Scholarship Program. Summer Central helps send children in Caledonia and Southern Essex Counties to Summer Camp. Enjoy all you can eat PIES for breakfast with beverages included. $7 ages 6 and up. $2 for ages 5 and under. Saturday, May 9th in the Lyndon Institute Cafeteria from 8:30 until 10:30 am. Great way to support a local program and help send children to summer camp! Whole pies will be available for purchase as well.

Event Description: NEKPA 2015 pulling season begins Sunday, May 10th. Pulls held at OCF, Barton. $5 p/p gate fee. 12 and under are Free. Gates open at 7:30am. Scales open at 8am. Pull start at 10am. $15.00 fee (for season pass) for those wishing to enter the pulling ring. Classes: 34" mini, 38" mini; 1850, 2250 and Free-for-All Ponies; 3400 and FFA horses. A veterinarian will be on the grounds conducting rabie shots and coggins for all equine-riding horses, show horses, minis and ponies. All are welcome! There is a fee for the Vet services. Event Description: Summer Camps in 2015 offer many choices – Girl Scout, Boy Scout, Science, Horseback riding, Sports. A century ago, young girls arrived in large numbers to spend the summer along the shores of Neal Pond at Camp Winneshewauka, “A Quiet Spot in the Mountains”. The Town of Lunenburg Historical Society invites area history buffs to learn more about this part of Lunenburg’s history through the memories of a 1920s camper captured in her scrapbook. Many local residents were employed in the later years of the camp – anyone who did will find this program especially enjoyable. Public welcome. FREE. The library is on Main street and is accessible.
